Re: Public Comment on Marcellus Invited by DEP
For folks who think industry should not be regulated: If it seems that American men becoming less 'manly' and more 'girlish', now we know why. In the August 10, 2011 edition of the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, researchers reported on a study involving 96 men. The study found that, as a man's exposure to the common chemical bisphenol A (BPA) rises, so does activity in his estrogen-related genes. Estrogens are hormones produced by the body. Humans whose bodies produce enough of the hormone are called 'women.' It's pretty clear that BPA, used in plastics and cash register receipts, turns baby guys into baby gays. And it does so at exposures which are "representative of those in the general population." Call it a coincidence: Two weeks after the study was published, Capitol Hill Republicans came out in force to rescue gender-bending BPA from the threat of regulation. Acting with surprising speed, Republican lawmakers blocked a law to ban BPA from baby bottles and drinking cups. The GOP wants to bring the sexes together by eliminating what makes us different... It leaves a person to wonder: Did the Republicans block efforts to protect our manhood in spite of the research study, or because of it? -- Rich |
