Looking Ahead
I've been reading about subjects like global warming and water and population growth and the surprising common theme has been that we do not look ahead far enough. Try two hundred years instead of ten or twenty. You and I wont be here then, of course, but our descendants will be. By then all this bonanza gas will have been sucked out of the ground and most of the oil along with it. Carbon fossil fuels will be a thing of the past. Will good water also be a thing of the past? Will temperate days and four seasons be gone then too? Will we barely have standing room? The actions of our forefathers left us a country; they are gone too and we are their thankful descendants. Will ours be thankful that we thought beyond our life spans in the actions we took? |
