Let's Establish a Water Cooperative
I suggest we establish a for profit "Water Cooperative" county owned and operated by which we 1. Make water a real and now economic reality and engine 2. Make water a political and monetary force. 3. Give an economic incentive and choice against gas drilling. What for example is the value of 2 million gallons of bottled water as opposed to 2 million gallons polluted in a gas well? First, the infrastructure needed to harvest water is way cheaper than to drill for gas and the burden to the environment would be negligible by comparison. Why not sell water instead of polluting it? And I mean an industry approach like Perrier or Badoit. Why give away and ruin our best asset? |

With a hundred strong investors I think we could put Pocahontas Water on the map! |

Re: Let's Establish a Water Cooperative
Do we know who has signed leases for drilling in the watershed served by Walt Helmick's water bottling company in Minnehaha (which, by the way, means "Laughing Waters" in Ojibway or similar language)? |

Re: Let's Establish a Water Cooperative
I think water should mean business because gas certainly means business...if you get my double entendre. |

I saw Walt's son, Tim, delivering water today. It is a great idea! The courthouse has gone to it. |
