Do you want to be on the Planning to Plan Task Force?

Hopefully, soon the County Commission will appoint citizens of the County to be part of a Planning to Plan task force chartered by the County Commission to begin a basic discussion about planning and to report back to the Commission their findings and recommendations on this large and unwieldy subject. If you are interested in serving on this task force, please contact the County Commission. All points of view need to be part of this initial step. The dialogue, in and of itself, will be an important step. It is anticipated that the group will be comprised of as many as 15 members. The Mayors of Durbin, Marlinton and Hillsboro and the representative from the Greenbrier County Economic Development Office will be invited to participate. Other members will be appointed by the County Commission so please, if you are interested, make that known to us. This group will have support staff from the County Commission. As a Commissioner I want to say that I do not have any agenda for the task force. My only wish at this stage is to foster a reasonable discussion about the future and about the values or not of planning. The meetings of this group will be open to the public and post agendas and will be completely transparent and hopefully would engage the view points of any one in the community who wants to express themselves.
